amule 2.0.2 problem on Windows
« on: June 30, 2005, 12:42:48 AM »

I've just installed amule 2.0.2 on Windows XP and I've found a problem which could have something to do with big part files (3.93Gb in my case), so I don't think it's a Windows problem.

Until now, I was using emule, so I've copied my part and met files from emule to amule and when I've started amule, as I expected, it has began to hash those temp files.

The problem is that I have a download which amule will never hash. It hashes all the others with no problem and states it's hashing the file I mentioned, but I'm sure it doesn't. I've let amule running for 3 hours and it hasn't hashed the file. I know it isn't hashing it (although it says it is) because cpu usage is at 3 or 4%, quite low for an ed2k client hashing a file.

The file is quite large (3.93Gb), so I was thinking that could be the problem. By the way, in the meantime, download and upload has worked flawlessly and the other downloads, which amule hashed perfectly, have been working without problems.

P.S.:I've just started amule again and I've been looking at the log window, and that is what I've got. It is in Spanish, but the hasher parts are in english and in red color, so it should be easy to read

As you can see, amule detects a part file that could be corrupted, but never rehashes it. The same corruption messages appeared the first time for the other part files, but amule rehashed them correctly.

And just another thing. After that, amule seems to eventually find sources for that download, but they go away as soon as they appear

BTW, apart from that, and at least for me, amule works better than emule. I just installed it to give it a try because emule wasn't working quite well, and now I don't want anything else :)

Try to recover/fix the .part.met file with some utility like donkeydoctor.

Regards.

I've already fixed the .part.met file with MetFileregenerator, but it didn't work in amule, either
