Strange uploads in 20050802
« on: August 03, 2005, 01:40:07 PM »

Hi,

I'm testing kad... Waooo! Greatly improved my dowloads (earlier and faster). :D

But i have now erratics behaviors with uploads : some of them start normally then reduce their speed to 0,1 Ko/s for maybe 10 mn then stop.

In the statistic window uploads is no more a beautifull line ; the shape is still there, but seems to change a few each time, according to the values i have in the transfert window : uploads are unstable.

I need confirmation on this please.

% ./amule -v
aMule CVS using wxGTK1 v2.6.1 (Snapshot: Tue Aug  2 07:02:02 CEST 2005) (OS: Linux)

OS : Debian Sarge

have you used cvs before? or always stable releases?

because since a couple already there is upload bandwith throtter in cvs, which means it will check the actuall upload from amule (including overhead) and adjust the upload to the clients to fit to your upload limit.
so when you have more overhead, amule will automatically slow down the upload to other clients...this could explain the unstable uploads,

the breakdown at the end of the picture is probable your internet disconnection right? since this should not happen actually ;)

Hi,

Before i was using stable 2.0.3, i took my comparaison from there.

Sounds great : "upload bandwith throtter", but the problem is my amule don't give a full chunck to each uploader, like it was before ; sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't.

Yes, the breakdown at the end of the picture is an internet disconnection, you gessed right !

Hi,

I've checked this option since ages. But it appears to my own point of view more weak connections to other peers.

The picture you'll see below shows the problem i'm talking about.

The client had a wait of 6 seconds then downloading since 16 minuts, several times his download goes to 0 Kb/s then restarted, but few seconds after that picture was taken it disapeared.
so the "full chunck" wasn't sent. I noticed this behavior several times, too often maybe.

Seems a bug to me.

Thx for paying attention.

regard

P.S. : the picture was taken with CVS 2005-08-05 ...

A possible reason could be that the other end cannot receive the data -- either because he has some network problems, or because his (total) download bandwidth is taken by more agressive sources.
