Speed display is weird...and some other things too
« on: November 23, 2005, 11:40:26 PM »

As you can see on the screenshot amule claims, that I download with 22.000kb/s which looks a bit odd to me. Another problem is, that the upload doesn't work like it should be, according to the overall upload speed it does it's job (with 12 of 16 kb/s), but it doesn't show this and only adds one client in the upload-list. There's also a minor problem with the display of the category names, but this doesn't really matter (works now again).
Crp, I just noticed, that my sources went down, amule claims that there are to many connections...(which is not the case)
Mh, is this more likely to be a local problem (didn't use amule for a while and maybe somehow I fucked up my sys or my router[linksys WRT54G, original firmware]) or could this be caused by amule?

BTW: Sharing the vid is allowed under the creative commons licence (see http://www.lafkon.net/tc), just to avoid being in conflict with the forum rules.

Seems to be an aMule-Issue, I've downgraded to 20051116 and everything works fine again.
It's running on Suse 9.3 machine with a self-compiled RPM-package and the wxgtk2.6 from dl.amule.org.
If I could help you in any way please feel free to ask.

Works fine again! Thank you!

Just the little issue with the sometimes not shown labels (atm they're here again) is still here, but I'm not sure wheter it's aMule's fault.

Take a look at the two screenshots, in both there are missing captions for all rows except filename and filesize in the downloads-section and in the uploads-section there are just the client-software, the speed, transmitted data, waiting time and upload-time-labels shown.
The strange thing is (it's a 1,7Ghz Suse 9.3 machine with KDE 3.4) that some row-captions disappear as soon as I start gimp and will be shown again when I click on any of the labels to sort the list (the arrow appears) Just clicking at the amule window anywhere else doesn't bring 'em back.
I hope this provides you with some helpful information.

Ah, yeah. I guess you are using wxGTK-2.6.x with GTk1? I've experienced the same problem with that combination ... should probably report it to the wxWidgets team.

EDIT: Seems that the issue has already been reported ... last year.

Running aMule CVS using wxGTK1 v2.6.2 (Snapshot: Wed Nov 30 07:01:58 CET 2005) (OS: Linux) under gnu debugger (gdb).

there are 6 active downloads. The total download speed for that 6 shown active download speeds added together is 120 kB/s

But aMule shows on the bottom a download speed of 75 kB/s.

And the download connection maximum in the preferences is set to 90.
