External connection troubles
« on: January 02, 2006, 04:06:29 PM »

Amule 2.0.3 installed with packet manager on Ubuntu Breeze 5.10.
Webserver actived on amule preferences.
From my intranet everythings works fine (http://localhost:4711).
From internet I can't connect to webserver; my router is correctly set with port forwarding and if I check the traffic with ethereal, when from internet I call http://myip:4712 I can see, on the pc with amule is running, a traffic from internet to my local ip to port 4712, but the browser goes in timeout and I have a amule-log like this:

New external connection accepted
Invalid EC packet received

I have tried on my mac in another lan with another router and I have the same problem.

Could some guru help me?

Thanks in advance!

start up amuleweb like you do for lan,

then point yor browser to
http://myip:4711 !!! you pointed it to 4712!, thats the port where amuleweb connects to amule(d), your browser needs teh 4711 port

tahts all

I think you don't understand.

From intranet (192.168.1.20:4711) works fine.

From internet (151.47.38.166:4712) don't work.

How can I connect to my amule-webserver from outside of my lan?

You have to forward the 4711 port to your pc, then access amuleweb via myip:4711
The 4712 port is the ec port, programs like amuleweb, amulegui or amulecmd connect through it, but you want to access amuleweb on port 4711.

(What Stefanero pointed out already BTW ;))

yup

what you have to unstand is, each service runs on ONE port, so the same server will be the same port from inside and outside teh LAN/internet

so if its 4711 for lan, its 4711 for internet aswell...
