bad blocks recovery
« on: December 21, 2010, 07:42:10 PM »

Hi all!

For the last two days i was trying to bring back to life my laptop, finally narrowing the problem - recently changed HDD. Well, shit happens, i went to the nearest store and bought another hdd, and then started to copy whatever data still readable from the old HDD using ddrescue (excellent program if you ask me). And i did it! I rescued ALMOST all the data, EXCEPT 172 bad blocks (which is around 85KB of data). So now what? I do know that all of this blocks (as i saved the list of addresses) belongs to one xfs partition. Now i'd like to know what files are affected.

Any ideas?
