remote gui windows > linux
« on: August 07, 2005, 05:08:07 PM »

hi!

i'm trying to connect my w2k notebook to my linux box (with correctly compiled amulegui on w2k and working amule on linux), but this doesn't work.

the snapshots are the same (both from 20050805), but the only error-message i get is:

Quote
2005-08-07 17:18:28: Neue externe Verbindung akzeptiert
2005-08-07 17:18:28: Verbinde zu Client: amule-remote 0x0001
2005-08-07 17:18:28: Incorrect EC version ID, there might be binary incompatibility. Use core and remote from same snapshot.
2005-08-07 17:18:28: Unautorisierter Verbindungsversuch. Verbindung getrennt.

could anybody help me please?

this means you use amule-(daemon) and amule-gui wrong different dates, this is NOT supported,
either update your aMule-(daemon) or update your amule-remote-gui

sure about taht?
maybe you have 2aMule on linux or something...at least you did not compile the excat same svn-versions

take the same tarball from one day for both mashines, and it will work

that's exactly what i've done.

both amule-versions were complied about one hour ago from the same cvs-file.

have i to use exactly the same configure options?

ok, i will try to repeat it with the cvs-file from today.

Belive it or not, it's a matter of line wrap differences (cr/lf -> cr)

hi!

the compilation of amulegui works great BUT the application doesn't work really stable :-(. after starting it the app locks my system (3,2ghz p4, xp home) for about 40s.
7 of 10 tries result in a runtime error, the other 3 tries result in the amulegui, but nothing is shown (no servers, no transfers).

the amule.exe runs REALLY fast at windows, the amulegui.exe is additionally very slow.

i also tried it at my 700mhz p3 mobile notebook (w2k), what results in the same errors.

i can't believe that it's a fault of amule, can anybody tell me my misstakes?

i used the howto from http://www.amule.org/wiki/index.php/HowTo_compile_on_Win32

it's a fault of aMule ;) I'll have to change the event system for amule gui, that's all.
