People being kicked out of Upload Queue
« on: February 02, 2004, 06:23:32 PM »

Hi,

I found a very strange bug in aMule I guess...

People seem to be kicked out from the Upload Queue all the time... Only 1 Person (max) is uploading while every new candidate is being booted once he's in the list...

I found out that it depends on the Bandwith Limit Upload setting...
When set to 0 or a higher value than 49 it doesn't work - people kicking starts...
When I set it between 1 and 49 it works fine!

Can anyone reproduce the problem? All other settings are set to default values except Line Capacities which is set to 5000kb/sec each... (I have 100Mbit connection)

Is this behavior a bug or is it somehow wanted?

Hi,

you are still below 49kb ... To which value did you set your upload limit?
My bandwith is 100mbit (4.6gbit) so it cannot be that...

When I set the limit to 0 I see upload rates going up to 400 in 4 secs and then dropping to 0 because it starts kicking out all users...

I raised the limit to 1000 kb / sec now - still slot allocation 5 kb... And the speed went up to 1mb / sec and then it started kicking all clients util I was empty again...

Whats wrong with that

Thats not the problem, it got the speed! It was at 1000kb / sec for some seconds and then kicked everyone out! :(

For all readers intersted in this problem:

We are currently trying to reproduce and track down the bug.
The best known workaround is to slowly try speeds and stick with the highest speed that works!

I will post again if a solution is found or the bug has been fixed.

We had a real long bug haunting session tonight, and I think we fixed it. In my local lan, clients are no longer kicked. Yay!

Greetings, Citroklar

P.S.: The fix is in cvs at the moment and will be in 1.2.5...thanks for reporting
