Crashes w/ 1.2.4 and 1.2.5 on FC1
« on: February 10, 2004, 09:50:36 PM »

Hey,

I am using Fedora Core 1 with your software.  The first version I installed was 1.2.4.  After searching for a particular file and choosing to download it, aMule 1.2.4 crashed and left the following backtrace:

Code: [Select]
[0] amule [0x81609e9]
[1] /usr/lib/libwx_gtk-2.4.so.0(wxFatalSignalHandler+0x26) [0x50a8082]
[2] /lib/tls/libpthread.so.0 [0x9050b8]
[3] amule [0x80fa8b2]

[6] /usr/lib/libwx_gtk-2.4.so.0(wxPthreadStart+0x1b) [0x50a3f5f]
[7] /lib/tls/libpthread.so.0 [0x8fe7fc]
[8] /lib/tls/libc.so.6(__clone+0x5a) [0x74baba]

When, I tried to start the program again, it crashed with this same backtrace.  The root user can use the program just fine.

Checking out your site, I saw that you released a new version, so I updated using "rpm -Uvh" (I've also tried removing the old and installing the new version fresh w/ "rpm- ivh")  Once again, under the original user, the program crashed on startup leaving THIS backtrace:

This one might be a little more informative.  I think it may have something w/ the file that I was attempting to download.  However, I'm not sure how I can retrieve the FileID for you or how to remove it from my system.  It was supposed to be an issue of 2600: "The Hacker Quarterly" I think Vol. 18 #1.  Although, I can't be entirely sure on that, and I'm not sure if they'll be other copies out there.

hi

close amule, move all your part files to other folder and now ->

1.  launch amule (as user) <- does it crash?
2. add part file by part file to your temp folder and everytime relaunch amule. if u get a crash u know what file caused it.. just remove the one..

Here are the part files that were giving me trouble.  So maybe you can figure out why it crashed aMule.  I originally tried to package them as a tar ball, but the BB software won't take it.  Just take the zip off.

LOL, I don't really care that much about the part files.  I thought you guys wanted them for a possible bugfix.

Nono, the user is right. an .part.met file shouldn't break the app

Many thanks
