LoID,KAD Firewalled hell
« on: August 08, 2006, 08:49:57 AM »

Hello Everyone at aMule Community.
I am new at aMule and having a difficulty of obtaining HighID. Yes, KAD Is firewalled as well........
I forward ports on my router (Linksys) in anyway possible. I also opened ports which required by aMule connections.  Nothing seems effective.
The version of aMule is aMule-2.1.3-Mac_Panther since I am still on Panther.

Here is a snap shot of the setting (both router and firewall) I have tried. What did I do wrong??Dose that mean my ISP dose not support aMule's default port? Can I pick any ports which are not used by other aplications?

Sorry for my bad english

You can't repeat ports in the router configuration. There are two machines that have the same configuration. Assign ports diferents for diferents machines. Change the ports in one machine, and rectify the router configuration. If not the router don't understant.

Thanks for ur assistant. as soon as I forwarded to only one computer, I could get high-ID. However, my KAD is still firewalled. What could be the problem??

If you are highID on the ed2k side things should be fine, because the same ports are used for Kad.

It usually just takes a little for Kad to detect that it is not firewalled, because there is no central instance (like a server) that can be used to test your connection. By now, you probably should be highID on kad as well.

Ok... Now everything seems working right, except my aMule dosen't download at all. People are downloading off my shared folder, Yet nothing... not even 0.1kb I can download. What did I do wrong? I could download a little bit when I was on low-ID. Now I am on High ID and I can't download anything at all! All port were forworded right. Every setting is reported right. but why I can't donload at all?? Plz Help me.

dubsic20, does the connection tester tell you that everything is set up properly? I ask this because sometimes a server gives you highID even though you are not.

If yes, take a look at http://www.amule.org/wiki/index.php/AMule_is_slow.
