I builded a new 2.2.2 package that allows to expand /Volumes and share external volumes,
changes:
new wxMac version 2.8.9
in wxMac I replaced mac/carbon/dirmac.cpp with unix/dir.cpp
new libpng version 1.2.32
new GeoIP.dat

Can you upload it to sourceforge?
Rename it as you prefer, I added a _2 to indicate that it was a new build.
This wedges on me reliably, often at startup but always within a couple of hours.
2.1.3 at least could usually run for several days.  10.5.5, G5

My English is not so good,
at startup or after a couple of hours amule crashes? Or became slow?

On Tiger I runned monolitich aMule for several hours and daemon for at least 15 days without problems.

Have you tried to delete old preferences?
Have you old version of aMule in your HDs? If yes, try to delete they (chmod 000 is ok).

Can you try to launch aMule from Terminal and post output and log?
Applications -> Utilities -> Terminal:
$ /Applications/aMule.app/Contents/MacOS/amule

Try debug version from here:
http://forum.amule.org/index.php?topic=13920.0
and follow this:
http://www.amule.org/wiki/index.php/Backtraces

I suggest you to try the daemon.

EDIT:
If you have CPU-intensive applications like boinc or xgrid amule seems to hang,
really it works but very very slow.

Hello hila,

Where did you download aMule? Our Mac installation package is a dmg file, which requires NO password, please be cautious as you may have downloaded something dangerous.

Take a look at this tutorial for installing dmg-files: http://www.ofzenandcomputing.com/zanswers/779

OK, please explain us step-by-step what you did. Please be detailed. When you've done this, please tell us what you expected to happen, so that it doesn't work.

1. Step-by-step report of your actions.
2. What did you do which didn't work.

I never owned a Mac and don't know if there's any kind of authentication necessary before installing a package.

Anyway: Have you ever installed an application using a dmg-file? If no, could try to install for instance pingus and see if the same password prompt appears?

How to download: Usually clicking the link to the file is enough, but you might try to open the context menu (hold down control while you click on the click) and select "save as" instead.

I'm afraid I can't help you further, because I lack the knowledge and can't guess the causes of the problem by your descriptions.

Do you know anyone who is experienced with Mac OS X? Could you try to ask this person?

Hello Hila first of all, every application you install in mac os requires you to enter the pasword you had to use when you first run your computer. This means only you an nobody else is able to install sofware in your computer. If you are not the one that set up your Mac for the first time (i.e. you are using the mac of your brother sister or father) ask them for the system adm. pasword.

aMule 2.2.2 works fine with 10.4.11 and up from what i know...

PS. this also means that even the 4 worms (virus) running around for mac os need you to give them permision to get installed :P

Sorry i don't keep any previous versions of aMule but you shouldnt have any problems with the current version...

Did you understand that to install anything in a Mac Os system you need the administrator pasword of the machine? Even installing Office you need the pasword of your machine. Even the few viruses that exist in the plataform need permision :P

So still you have problems?
