CVS has big improvements!
« on: February 08, 2005, 04:53:09 PM »

Anybody who builds aMule from CVS should grab a recent snapshot and build a new version.

Today, a bunch of changes which were being held back until after 2.0 final have instead been released for the general public.  So, 1) there's lots of good stuff for you in there, and 2) we need your help to test the changes.

I believe one of my recent fixes may provide a substantial improvement in aMule performance and behavior on the Mac.  It has eliminated the problem where the failure count on servers increases incessantly until they all get deleted.  The "Ping" column of the server list now gets populated.  I've seen improvements in global searches.

Let us know what your experiences are.

i was going to post a recent cvs binary yesterday but then i noticed that the implementation of the server hostname resolving had broken server connections.
it looks like you fixed that last night, ken, so i am going to post a fresh binary over the course of the day, for those who want to help testing but lack the time to compile amule themselves.

EDIT:
ok, i tried to get a working version a couple of times today using different wx installs but all i got was this. as soon as that's resolved i'll provide an up-to-date binary...
