Repeating crash with aMule, and can't fix by reinstalling
« on: November 28, 2007, 12:59:20 PM »

Below is the error output from an iBook G4. Is the problem just with the corrupted libLW8Converter.dylib? Is there an easy way to fix this? Unfortunately I can't provide much more information as this is not my computer. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Date/Time:      2007-11-28 12:24:20 +0100
OS Version:     10.3.9 (Build 7W98)
Report Version: 2

Command: amule
Path:    /aMule-2-1/aMule.app/Contents/MacOS/amule
Version: 2.1.3 (2.1.3)
PID:     521
Thread:  Unknown

Link (dyld) error:

dyld: /aMule-2-1/aMule.app/Contents/MacOS/amule malformed library: /System/Library/Printers/Libraries/libLW8Converter.dylib (not a Mach-O file, bad magic number)

I don't think that's an aMule problem. You should try to reinstall the libLW8Converter.dylib file, it seems to be corrupted.

How does one do something this? I've done something like it once with Windows XP but I'm not aware of how it works on a Mac.

Unfortunately I can't help you either as I never had a Mac in my hands (save being allowed to touch an old OS9 machine about 7 years ago). But I would try to have a look at the OS X DVD and search for related files or maybe there's an repair mode. A reinstall should work, but this is so Windows-like...

But if you're lucky some of the Mac guys here will be able to help you. Good luck!
