Low ID, KAD firewalled... since new version ???
« on: October 03, 2008, 07:55:35 PM »

Hi guys,

I read several posts of people having the same problems as I have, but still, can't find what I've done wrong.

Basically, I have a low ID & KAD firewalled, and curisouly, after I installed last amule version 2.2.2, it worked fine at the beginning. But not anymore. Had no pb with the former version.  :-[

I read the post about the FW settings for MAC OSX but mine is not activated.
Did change the port allocations also, and amended the settings accordingly in the routers port forwarding config.

some details:

- macbook
- MAC OSX 10.4.11
- FW desactivated
- outgoing Ports fwding config on Amule & my  router:
TCP 54662
UDP 54665
UDP 54672

- ISP : Free  - Router & modem integrated.
Also : my list of servers, that I found in Wiki, is http://gruk.org/server.met.gz

Any idea ? Shoud I reinstall amule 2.2.2 ?

Thks for your answer :)

I don't know why, but I've had the same problem, and I'm sure it dooesn't concern a bug affecting the new amule version, because it worked good for several days. Just ten minutes ago the little arrows turned green, I think the point was: what "nodes.dat" do you use? I'm trying this one <http://download.tuxfamily.org/technosalad/utils/nodes.dat> and seems to go right, and I'm using this list <http://elboiler.p2pforum.it/server.met.gz>. Try this ones and let me know.
Ne approfitto per ringraziare gtoso per aver compilato e messo a disposizione questa 2.2.2 finalmente dichiarata compatibile con Leopard.
Ciao everybody! :D

salut,

qu'entends-tu par
"- outgoing Ports fwding config on Amule & my  router:
TCP 54662
UDP 54665
UDP 54672" ??

Akeyo, I tried with the list of servers and nodes you said, but still, low id.

I wonder what the hell is going on with my configuration and this new version. Anyway, thanks for your help!

an update: that's weird, but I have a low ID when connecting to internet via airport, but a high ID when connecting with a cable (built-in ethernet).

My ip addresses are always the same (manual dhcp x.x.x.3 for airport, .4 for ethernet), and port redirections are similar for both ip@ of course.

So , no idea what's wrong with airport, but still, I'll use a cable :)

For me to get high ID i have to unselect ' use protocol obfuscation for outgoing connections'. The problem appeared with 2.2.2.

Many moons ago I was all in the green with a hi-ID and KAD connected, working great.  Then all of a sudden it all changed:  Low-ID, KAD firewalled, or disconnected.  I tried everything under the sun and earth, nothing worked.  I did not try this:  unselect ' use protocol obfuscation for outgoing connections'.  ( Don't know what it really is)

I was using a Netgear 8 port switch on my network as there were 2 computers and VOIP connected to the internet.  One day to try to reconfigure the network I pulled out of the relic closet my old Farallon Hub, hooked it up, and removed the switch.  It didn't do what I wanted it to do on the network, but when I, for shits & giggles, tried to see what it did to Amule, I instantly got all in the green, a Hi-ID, and KAD connected.

The switch should not have caused a problem, It hadn't originally, it only distributes the signal to several outgoing ports, just s a hub does.  But something happened somewhere that it didn't like what was going on.  Needless to say the switch is now in the relic box.  So people may wish to try other pieces of hardware on occasion if all else seems correct.  Return policies are great. hehehe
