aMule not doing anything at all.
« on: September 25, 2005, 12:30:08 AM »

First things first: I'm not much good with computers. For me, widgets come from the bottom of a can of beer.

I've downloaded the latest binary for aMule. I was under the impression that 'binary' meant, 'aMule for idiots; download and run'. Apparently this is not the case.

The mule/donkey icon is currently sitting on my desktop and mocking me, if I'm any judge. Unfortunately, that's all it's doing. Trying to run the programme results in...

...nothing. Period. It doesn't even open, then crash/hang etc. It just plain doesn't do anything at all. I've done Control + Icon > Contents > MacOS, but I can't seem to open any of the files therein. What programme do I need to read them?

I have found on the HD a file called 'amule.crash.log'. The info there is:

This is repeated throughout the document except with different date/time information i.e. for each time I've tried to run the programme.

All help appreciated.

This is the problem.  Sorry, but the aMule binary we provide requires Panther (10.3.x) or better. :(

It may be possible to compile aMule for 10.2.x, but I don't know if we've confirmed that.  And, you don't seem like you're looking for that level of complexity.  ;)
