I'm new to all this...but i've tried for hours.
« on: May 12, 2006, 03:18:40 PM »

It seems I have High ID (whatever that is) with apparently correct connections to KAD and ED2k.

...but i'm not connecting with clients for dl. Download is at a standstill @ 0kbs. With no progress whatsoever. I've forwarded a  TCP port 1755, a UDP port 1756, including the original UDP 4672. I'm literally clueless. I'm behind a router also, but I think i've tamed that; something is wrong, though I can feel it.

Is this an issue of ports? Or sources...i mean even if the sources were of minicule quantity, would I still get at least 1kb/sec? I'm so confused.

In my connections options I have the UDP as original. Is that correct at all? Even though I added a UDP of 1756 in the forwarding process?

What can I do?

My dl is 128 as well as my upload. Line capablilities the same. MY slot allocation is 2kb/s

Can someone clue me in :)? Sorry I feel incapable of even using emule, let alone amule.

First, read as much as you can in other to understand what is going on. Read the docs at our wiki page:
http://www.amule.org/wiki/index.php/Main_Page

Second, make sure you are connecting to a non-fake server. How? Google around for the servers and for forum discussions about fake servers and find your self a trustable source for the file server.met.

Third, downloads do not start right after you start the program. That can take a few hours to happen, so patience is a must too. Ed2k apps are supposed to run for days in order to complete a big file. This is something you will learn from reading the wiki articles.

Cheers!
