LowID even though ports opened
« on: May 25, 2006, 06:55:41 PM »

i'm using Amule on OS X Panther 10.3.9. I have the D-Link DI-604 Router in which I opened ports 462, 4665 and 4672 and 4673 in Advanced-Application for both TCP and UDP. The router gives me a static IP too. Still I get a LowID on any server I try to connect to. Anyone got a clue how to fix that?

thanks
Chris

The very same problem just brought me to this site. My D-Link DI-604T runs on australian firmware. I have no problems with getting eMule, ssh, Apache or Wildfire (jabber server) to communicate with outside world. The only stubborn app is aMule. Port forwarding does not help. Setting my PC to DMZ (all ports forwarded to public IP) doesn't work either. I used aMule 2.0.3,  will try 2.1.1 to see if it helps. The problem seems to be with aMule...

Acess Point has UPnP enabled, if it is of any importance.
OS: Gentoo.

2.1.1 worked for me. I did not change any further settings. Since the mule started, i got a highID. Kademlia showed a 'firewalled' at first, it changed to 'open' some time after I clicked the 'bootstrap' button (it had no peers before that).

I can post my config if you wish, however, AU soft for router differs much from EU version. I use AU, because it has more options - on the other hand, you loose the warranty if you switch.

hmm... 2.1.1 broke the web interface instead, I am unable to log in...

EDIT: all good now. for some reason, new amuleweb doesn't accept the hostanme it was called with. It kept redirecting me from localhost to my DNS name. And because the host name did not match, Firefox dropped the cookies. Duh!

Could you please try to clear your cookies? This should help in the most cases.
