Sim, já vi esse site e segui ops seguintes passos:

Right click on the list, select New, then Boolean; insert network.protocol-handler.external.ed2k as Preference Name and true as Value

Now another right click, select New and String; insert network.protocol-handler.app.ed2k as Preference Name and /path/to/ed2k (path to where the file is installed on your system) as Value.
Mas não sei qual o meu path/to/ed2k logo não passei desse passo.

Please type whereis ed2k in a terminal to find out where your ed2k-app is installed and ensure that you've used the same path.

If it still doesn't work, you should check the spelling of the two entries again, it happens far too easy that you've typed something wrong and you spend hours on finding the mistake.
