Removing/Reinstalling Amule
« on: February 19, 2004, 12:35:14 PM »

OK people I'm completely lost now.
since upgrading to 1.2.6 Downloads no longer would show up in the transfers window (it says "1" transfer above the window and even downloads files fine, but it does not show them)
ok, I thought just reinstall it.

(Debian Sid btw)

so apt-get remove --purge amule
apt-get install amule

but dada: the old config (and bug) is still there
I even deleted /home/myhome/.aMule and /root/.aMule
by HAND and it still doesnt work.
created a config with user root and copied it over to /home/myhome/.aMule
no effect, still uses the corrupted one
(the stuff works fine using root)

so why is it still having a config if I already purged it completely (and I also purged xmule just to get rid of eventually old config bits

please ;(

hhhmmm

config is saved in .eMule in your home directory not .aMule
does that help?

btw.
the files .eMule and the folder .aMule are created everytime for the user that uses aMule, so deleting .eMule for user and running aMule as root does not do the trick.
alway delete .eMule for the person who runs aMule either root or user, same with the folder .aMule

maybe just a click on your transfer window and  choose "show lists" from the menu?
