Completed downloads NOt showing in download folder
« on: September 06, 2006, 03:00:45 PM »

I have some completed files which don´t automatically move to the download folder in my computer. This has worked before, but not now.

I have checked the settings, and they seem fine... How do I get my file out of amule now?

Thank you!

Are you really really really sure that you have changed nothing? Maybe your drive is full and therefor it is impossible to move the files? (a move requires free space of at least the file-size during the move process...)

But in any case, you must be able to find the files in the directory as specified in the preferences, on the tab "directories" (I think, not at a aMule station at the moment). If that directory does not exist, I believe the file will still be in the "temporary" directory, where all the part files are.

Incoming and temporary directory is the same in my MAC. After a complete (green) download, when I earlier clicked on the directory, the downloaded file "popped up" right away.

Now the only place the file appears is in the downloadpage, it never leaves it:) I try to right click on "clear completed files" hoping it will move to the directory, but nothing happends.

I have enoough free space (5,5GB), and i am trying to move 698 MB....

I have dobbel, and dobbel checked the settings, and the link to the directory is correct, and as always. I can see older files in the directoryforlder.

I don´t really have any more ideas of what to do. Maybe just restart my computer?:)

Thanks again!!

Well, restarting always makes a good start of problem solving. Maybe something got stuck in a loop or whatever. Try rebooting, and see what happens. If you really didn't change a thing, it must be something in the background preventing the move.

Or... maybe you have a file with the same name as the downloaded file already present in the directory? In that case the move will fail as well?

In any case, let's see what happens after a reboot.

Restarting, I forced the program to quit whicg led to deleting all the files on download...., so now I really start from scratch, and let´s see what happends. I'll empty the directoryfolder to be sure of a clean start. Let´s hope!! I am not as green as it sound:)

There's another thing to check: if you're using categories, each category can have its own Incoming directory specified.  Perhaps the categories Incoming directory is somehow inaccessible.

Lastly, I think it's a bad idea to have your Temp and Incoming directories set to the same place.  All files in the Incoming directory are shared automatically.  Therefore, you are sharing your part files, which makes no sense.
