Waiting forever
« on: September 11, 2006, 08:19:34 PM »

Hi all,

I am newbie

I have just installed amule (and xmule) on a Mandriva-Linux 2006.
I got my first download ok. But since then, I just get waiting, forever.

I have been searching in xmule forum and got an old thread: they
talked about removign cryptkey.dat and changing IP if possible.
But I couldn't. It seems it is bad setting and probably I am getting banned.

The last post is quite recent (jul 2006) and speaks as if someone
found a solution here. But where?

Can anyone help me?

Thanks in advance, and I beg you all your pardon if this is an old newbie thread

thank you very much Lionel

Is the link correct? That is what I got:

----------
Ciao,nel menù preferenze le etichette potrebbero essere messe una sopra l'altra in questo modo:

Generale Connessione Server File Cartelle

-----------

That is italian, isn't it?
I don't get the point

hey looks like lionel got the wrong post ;)

anyway do you have a high or low ID ? you can check this by looking at the little earth on the bottum right corner

yellow = low
green = high

make sure you have the kad network enabled in prefs

also maybe this wiki page will help you :)
http://www.amule.org/wiki/index.php/AMule_is_slow

also one last point, either use x or a mule they kinda dont like each other :)

Thanks a lot stefanero

I'm getting used to that stuff. And things are getting improved.

I got high id and now I am downloading and uploading files. I am also learning
how to understand the screen (sources, priorities and the like)

BTW, I choose amule, definetively.

thanks

Oops, must have linked to the wrong thread -- sorry about that. Anyway, looks like stefanero has already put you on the right track. For further information, you might also want to have a look at the Getting Started guide and the aMule FAQ. :)
