"stable" release of CVS tarball?
« on: October 20, 2006, 01:11:06 PM »

Hello

I want to know if comebody can recommend me an specific version of aMule CVS, which would be more stable than 20061018. It crashes continously, and even more if I try to use the webserver.

I just want to have the option of >4GB files, and if possible, use the webserver. what version do you use? I don't wanna spend all day compiling different versions, because each one took me more than 2 hours...

well, I hope anyone can help me with this,

thnx in advance!

marcpalaus,

I use the latest release without stability problems. Btw, we go a long way without stability problems in CVS code. If you compile aMule yourself, you should try compiling wxWidgets yourself too, lots of distros have problems with that, though the latest FC4 wxWidgets package seems to work fine here. Btw, up time is one day because I had to stop it to make some tests two days ago and commit a new version.
Code: [Select]
$ trunk/src/utils/cas/cas
aMule CVS rev. 6960 has been running for 1 D 21 h
asdfqwer is connnnected to xxxxxxx [xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:xxxx] with HighID | Kad: ok
Total Download: 813.59 Gb, Upload: 300.33 Gb
Session Download: 2.88 Gb, Upload: 1.57 Gb
Download: 24.9 kB/s, Upload: 9.9 kB/s
Sharing: 1558 file(s), Clients on queue: 5000
$ ps u -C amule
USER       PID %CPU %MEM    VSZ   RSS TTY      STAT START   TIME COMMAND
asdfqwer 22394 27.0 19.2 441984 199320 pts/3   Sl   Oct18 736:55 trunk/src/amule --i-would-marry-my-mule

I have more problems with firefox eating memory than with aMule.

Cheers!

well, I tried the same version for 2 days, and i havn't any more crashed. maybe one of them using the webserver, but i changed to the "chicane" template and seems to be more stable. Maybe it was just a configuration problem.

thnx anyway
