Kad won't work
« on: October 26, 2006, 04:01:41 AM »

I can't get my Nodes to load and thus Kad to connect.  Is http://download.overnet2000.de/nodes.dat correct?  What does "Bootstrap a new Node mean?

Address is correct, but it's not work for now  :(

For bootstrap you need to now an ip address of computer, that already in KAD-network.

p.s nodes.dat, located here (http://nodes.soultcer.net/) seems to be broken.

Or, and this is much easier, just connect via ED2K, start a download with many sources such as a Linux ISO, wait a minute or 2, then connect to Kad and click "bootstrap from known clients". This will fill up the clients list and you're off from there.

And don't forget that it might take a while for Kad to go from "firewalled" to "OK"  :)
