periodical brake in Download speed
« on: November 01, 2006, 01:35:22 AM »

I am using Amule on Ubuntu 6.06. I was running long time 2.1.1, without having problems. 2 months ago trouble started. My downloads are periodical interupted and go down to zero. I tried updating to 2.1.3. without any change. I inserted the statistic graph for easy visualisation. This downgoings are regulary about every 15 minutes, and it doesn`t depend on the speed i am downloading, the picture was a lucky shot  ;-)

Is it possible for my ISP to do this ?
Any Ideas what to change on system/amule to stop this "Stop-N-Go" loading ?

Hi bugworm!

Do you own a router? If yes, lower the number of sources by decreasing the hard limit. If this still doesn't help, please lower the number of maximum connections and the number of maximum connections per 5 seconds (Preferences->Core Tweaks) as well. I would blame your local hardware, I don't think it's the providers fault.

Hi wuischke!

Thanks for the tip. Its realy the routers foult. I am trying a little bit with the settings, to get the problem solved. I gues its the maximum connection per 5 seconds... shouldnt be higher than 5 or so...
