can't search
« on: November 10, 2006, 04:26:28 AM »

Newly installed amuled and amulecmd on ubuntu, but 'search' and 'results' are not listed under available commands with amulecmd.  I have used them before on another system (mandrake) without trouble.  Did I forget something in amule.conf?  ...or something else even simpler?

thanks

EDIT
These are the available commands I get:

aMulecmd$ help
Available commands:
Add           Adds an ed2k link to core.
Cancel        Cancel download.
Connect       Connect to the network.
Disconnect    Disconnect from the network.
Exit          Exits from the application.

Shutdown      Shutdown aMule.

Where did 'search' and 'results' go?

You say you are using aMule 2.1.0, which is pretty old...have you tried using at least 2.1.3 (which is current as of this writing)? or even better, a SVN  version?

Regards.

Thanks for the replies!

I have found and installed 2.1.2, the latest available version I could find for ubuntu, but it also does not have search function.  I guess I will wait for an ubuntu deb package for 2.1.3 to appear.

I did find a 2.1.3 deb, but it wouldn't install (uninstallable dependencies).  In the meantime, doing searches with amulegui works fine in place of amulecmd with the same benefit: it starts up and shuts down without interrupting the core.    :D

Thanks again.
