Ul/Dl speed drops to zero with mac osx
« on: January 03, 2007, 08:19:20 AM »

I'm new user of Mac osx and switch from emule in windows to amule. With Emule had no problem but with amule my dowload and upload speed drop to zero periodically, sometimes regularly, sometimes irregularly. I've tried several configurations but I get the same result. I think it's not my internet connection because in windows I never had this kind of problems, it's only with mac os x. I don't get any message in the router log  or in the amule log so I suppose there's no connection loss between router and computer. I attach a shot of the statistic view to show the behavior of the program. Thank you in advance for your answer.

What kind of Mac do you have (cpu & ram)?

Sometimes you will see drops like those when you are maxing out your system resources (e.g., I sometimes see something similar when I am compiling stuff on my machine). Are you maybe running any demanding apps in the background when this happens?

You could also try lowering some aMule settings to reduce the load on your router:
- upload limit (preferences->connection)
- max number of connections (preferences->connection)
- max number of cons / 5s (preferences-> core tweaks)

I have been trying several configuration and the results are the same. It's a new imac 20" with core 2 duo. With windows emule runing in the bootcamp partition it happens the same. So I suppose there's a fault in the airport configuration or something like this. I'm looking for an answer in apple forum support. Thanks.
