AMULE on the new IMAC Help?!?
« on: March 27, 2007, 10:43:06 PM »

Hey all,

I've been through the FAQ and browsed some of the forum help pages but I have had no luck at all.
I just bought a new IMAC and I have a really generic system and can't figure out what's going wrong.

My System:

IMAC - MAC OSX  10.4.9
No Router
No Firewall (Enabled)
Standard Cable connection

My Problem:
ED2k - not connected
KAD- connected but Firewalled

When I first loaded it, it could search, but the downloads  didn't happen.
Now it doesn't do anything.  It just tries to connect to server.  The dialog box says connected, but
Ed2k and Kad both don't connect.

I checked my port - 4662 using the test in the FAQ and it works fine.

So now I have no idea what to do.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Branch.

It could be a problem with your ISP, maybe you have a firewall installed and it's not configured, or you have a router.

Regards.

Hey,

Thanks for the quick response.
After researching routers, it seems that my cable internet box might be acting like a hardware firewall.
Though when I tested my ports, they came back as 'listening' on 4662 and I've never had a problem with other p2p software.
Also, it was working slowly for a brief period.

Could someone please post a set of general configuration settings.  That's the one thing that I couldn't find on the FAQ.
General settings that should result in a good connection to the network.  I've already checked the OSX preferences and made sure that the
software firewall is off.

Thanks,
Branch.

Hi!

We know nothing about the hardware you are using, so we cannot help you without information.
