CVS's with wx 2.8.0
« on: March 30, 2007, 10:54:38 PM »

'http://vollstreckernet.de/debian/ testing amule'

when placed into sources list.. compiles with 2.6.. which for me, is very very buggy.. (high cpu, graphical pains)

I'm guessing the debs at the site are compiled with 2.6.. can they start being compiled with 2.8? as i read on one of the posts that you are stopping support and also recommend using 2.8 anyway.

if this site has noting to do with the offical devs at amule, then  forget i said anything  ;)

These are packages provided by Vollstrecker, please ask him (PM/mail) directly about this.

Is wx 2.8 in debian ('old testing' -> etch) testing?

Thank you for the info on the request, i have PM'd Vollstrecker directly through the forum's.

I believe the wx's (2.6's) in 'testing', is what he(they) use to compile the .debs for Debian/buntu third party repo usage.

I answer here, to avoid and answer same requests I get on a regular basis.

I want to stay some kind of synced with official debian repo, I just wait till wx2.8 is at least in debian sid/unstable, so I backport it to testing and stable and then compile the pkg's against them. Why? For testning because it stays at least ten days in sid before it enters testing, and for stable, because it wont enter it before the next major release. Why I wait for pkg's to backport instead of just creating it? Because that way I can at least asure you, that there is no trouble while upgarding. Packaging of libs is a bit more difficult than a normal prog, and it's very possible, that the original maintainer chooses another way than I.

Sure, first I compile wx-2.8 for stable, then they'll get flag support.

Added, I just wait for a statement of Kry, if his Post from tonight was about the Makefile or the compile error.
