filename variability in amule remote gui
« on: May 16, 2007, 12:03:00 PM »

at the moment people who do not use trusted sites to get ed2k links and download files searching for them with keywords on kad or servers are not sure of what they are downloading if they use amuled on a screenless system and control it by httpinterface/amulecmd/amuleremotegui
i think this is a great security issue, implementing filename variability in the file details tab (in second instance also 'comments') of the amule remote gui could be a solution to limit the wrong/dangerous downloads

tnx

WTF is "variability"? and what kind of "security issue" should it solve?

1) how the file i am downloading has been named from the various sources

2) i could be more sure that what i am downloading is what i am searching for

1. Right-click on file, "show detail" or something similar
2. see (1)

that is ok in amule monolithic version

Aaah, that's what are you talking about ... Yes, remote gui doesn't have all the features that monolithic have.
I'm working on better version but progress is slow due to various real-life issues.
