KAD stuttering

I'm noticing KAD struggling to get an open status and struggling to get sources for files,  versions tested;
CVS-20080410
CVS-20080409

for instance,
number of nodes displays 600, number of sources found for ten downloads, zero.
after an hour its found 1 source for 1 file and only 3 people are on my upload queue.

now i try a earlier CVS-20080329;
open status is almost instantaneous.
number of nodes displays 200, number of sources found for ten downloads, all available, took 2minutes
by 20mins my queue has filled up and everything is normal.

conclusion, KAD is mashed.

KAD is running fine here.
What's the size of your nodes.dat ?
0329 can't read nodes.dat of 0410 anymore. Did you backup/restore it, or how did you get 0329 to connect ?

well atm i'm running 0329 with just a click on the nodes update button and it connects and gets sources fast and easy,
and as i said before i try the same in latest cvs i.e. 0410, 0409, and it struggles to connect and get any sources at all.
But from what you have said, do you recommend deleting all KAD related files and trying latest cvs again?

Exit 0329. Check nodes.dat (should be about 4k). Don't delete anything. Just start up 0410 (0409 is broken) and see what it does.
What is your OS by the way ?

right will do, 0409 did actually crash on me but the backtrace was worthless.
will run 0410 with gdb ,

i'm a archlinux user.
