amule crash

First, I hope I am in the right place.
I got a crash that I probably caused myself.

I was running with a router which I did not need anymore. So I took it out. After that aMule kept turning off and I had to restart continually.
So I decided to go back to using the router. I disconnected internet while aMule was running. After everything was connected I could not open aMule again. When I click the aMule icon the screen flashes and that's all I get.

This is what I get when trying from a terminal

No other instances are running.
HTTP download thread started
Loading temp files from /home/claude/.aMule/Temp.

If I remove aMule and reinstall it will I still have my incoming files and temp files or will I loose everything?

Yes, uninstalling an reinstalling preserves your files, configuration, everything. Although I'm not sure it will help.

I suggest trying a current SVN tarball.

aMule is running again.

Removing files, even completely removing files does not completely remove them.
Re installation only picks up from the hidden .aMule file and puts back the same corrupted files back in.
I saved the files from the incoming folder to another file and did the same with the temp files.
Then I sent the .aMule file, complete, to trash and afterwards deleted the trash.
I restarted the computer for safe measures.
I installed aMule from a terminal, and launched it.
Then I transferred my incoming files and my temp. files back to the .aMule hidden files.
 I am back in business,

well as i have exactly the same backtrace output on same 64-bit ubuntu, i had followed corvair's steps but focused on only one detail: removing the .aMule directory from my /home. just that simple.
didn't move temp and incoming folders, didn't reinstall, just moved .aMule from home to desktop (or wherever) and run aMule again, and it runs smoothly.

i will now try to move back files from old .aMule directory one by one, tryng to locate which one generates the problem, but in short - JUST MOVE .aMule DIR FROM YOUR HOME and it will run again :)


 - - ->  EDIT: "amule conf" is the file that crashes amule. moved back all files one by one, tried amule every time and it runs ok except when "amule.conf" is in question :)
