configurability of country flags
« on: June 14, 2008, 09:53:23 PM »

Displaying country flags next to usernames is a nice and cool feature.  I think that it merits greater configurability.

For example, I would love to see options to:

  • Enable or disable flag display
  • Choose the granularity of the flags (e.g., flag of european union/member states/regions within states)
  • Choice of controversial flags (e.g., in the case of territorial disputes, occupied territories, etc)
  • Choose a meaning for the flags different than the country (e.g., educational, government, military, adsl, dialup, whatever)

At least the very first point is a valid one - one should be able to change country flags in preferences, not only during compilation.

Yes, somewhere from "gui tweaks".

Funny, I had never noticed that the flags thing can't be disabled since I like it so much :P

Regards.

Definitely (enable/disable flags), but the pipeline has become quite long. The required GUI files have been locked for quite some time.  :(

I'll storm to my computer and check SVN on Monday (just like the last four or five times...).  ;)
