Problem with ./configure on aMule 2.2.2 with OpenSuSE 11

First of all, I am new to Linux, ANY distro of Linux.
I am having problems with trying to configure aMule before I do make instell.  When I do ./configure I am presented with libintl not detect.  When I do locate libintl I am presented with numerous perl-libintl-perl 1.16 files. 
Does anyone know what I could be doing wrong here?  Thanks

You need to install ‘gettext-runtime’ and ‘gettext-tools’ packages.
