Low ID & KAD is firewalled.
« on: September 22, 2008, 06:23:55 AM »

Heres the deal:

I finally got amule connect, and im using a mac osx tiger btw.

Im using --
TCP Port: 4672
Extended client UDP:4675

I went to my  firewall settings changed it to match my amule settings
I quit amule and then restart and then automatically in amule it swithes it to a random  the UDP port number of: 64686

What gives?

Also  My first arrow is a red down arrow, followed by a green up arrow, and my KAD is always firewalled, and i cant seem to get a HighId,
the one download i tryed was going at a snails pace.

Is there any way to fix this. Please help. :)

The changing port is normal and you should be warned about this when starting aMule. The (TCP port number)+3 UDP port is reserved for the server requests udp port, as you can see in the preferences page underneath "bind address" and can't therefore be used for the extended udp port.

For the firewall: Delete the old rule when you change the version. Mac OS X digitally signs application and the signature changes on version change and the rules are not applied anymore.
Create a new rule allowing your TCP port and two UDP ports (TCP+3 and the one you set) for aMule.

Also check if you have a router.

So what are the steps in need to do so that I can get this to work im unsure what u mean when u say delete the old rule?
What should i put for the bind address? What should i put  for the UDP port# ?

What do u mean delete the old rule and version change?
How do I check if i have a router?

Sorry for all these questions. Im not fully understanding how to do this in the right steps.

I've never used a Mac in my life, so I might express my self badly or say wrong things, please excuse this.

In your second picture, there's a list of firewall rules. Select the aMule rule and delete it.

Leave the bind address empty and just use the default port 4672 or if you want any other free port.

If you upgrade from aMule 2.1.3(2.2.1) to aMule 2.2.2, your aMule version changes. The Mac OS X firewall uses a digital signature to identify applications for which it has exceptions and using a different aMule version this signature changes.
This signature serves to prevent a trojan horse from overwriting a know good application and thus bypassing the firewall.

Router: How do you connect to the internet?
