Seriously? These pesky Italians* are really vocal in asking for features... but anyone who calls Kademlia "Kadu" even in the official package description should <enter your favourite torture method here> At least original aMule is still there, even in version 2.2.4.

* Joking, I love you.

I really wonder what's riding this Ubuntunians. How can they add an App that hasn't even an English homepage so one can look up what it's about? Wuischke, as experienced Italian coffee drinker - can you sum up some facts (other than "it sucks and we ban it")?

At least original aMule is still there, even in version 2.2.4.
There are two places to install software in Ubuntu:
1) Synaptic package manager: has both
2) Application manager: Adundanza only.
Since the Application manager might be the place where the noobs look first for installing, I'm seeing a lot of fun coming along.  >:(

even in version 2.2.4.
Even more fun ahead.  :-[

This is the correct place to talk of this?  :-\
Well - I think it's not small talk, since it's aMule business. There's no distribution discussion board.

Adunanza is a mod created because a certain Italian ISP blocks traffic (or something similar) and they started to modify the client to work inside the network of the ISP, thereby creating their own subnet. Take these information with a grain of salt, I never looked at the source or bothered to read in depth.

2) Application manager: Adundanza only.
In this case we should file a bug report - Adunanza is only useful for Fastweb user, if I'm not mistaken, and everybody else will be better off with regular aMule.

Oh oh, I'd like to see those facts listed eventually. There are too many friends I'd like to share that.

Full story will be sort of a surprise, indeed.

Cheers,

Using Adunanza by the general public is horrendously wrong. Mind you, using Adunanza by the Fastweb users is bad enough in my book, but at least it's some form of damage control. This is plain retarded.

Code: [Select]
- This is aMule 2.2.2 AdunanzA using wxGTK2 v2.8.9 based on eMule
- Visit http://www.amule.org to check if a new version is available.

Yeah, sure. What a piece of crap. And it starts with an Italian splash screen. Ubuntu must be out of their minds.
And it doesn't connect to Kad of course.  :P

You forgot that the application has only a italian page for downloads and support, making it retarded to offer it worldwide (but not more retarded than the fact it's ISP-specific)

Added and I subscribed bugreport to ubuntu-sru... I wish you good luck with the bugreport. I already lost hope in what any "update post-release" (even have a svn of aMule 2.2.0 on Ubuntu 8.04 LTS)

You shouldn't have quoted Kry verbatim though. If anybody files a report for aMule using the word retarded chances are pretty high he'll get nothing but a good fuck you as response. I don't think this helps our case. ::)
