amuled's "about" page
« on: May 20, 2009, 12:09:42 PM »

just now i faced with the problem that i couldn't remember if i upgraded my amuled to a new version. as i'm a GUI-man i decided to launch amuleGUI to check it's "about" page, but the only information it had was about GUI itself. i think it's not fair, especially since amuleGUI is no use without a daemon.

of course i know the way to see the version. actually, i know many of them. unfortunately, all of them including ssh to the server with some console-commands followed. as i've said - i prefer gui.
but even this isn't the main cause, the main is that i think it's not right that amuleGUI user (as well as -CMD, and i suppose web too although i didn't ever use it) can't see any information about the core, being more important than gui.

You are right, from aMuleGUI there is no way.
For now aMuleGUI allows you to see the statistics, but not the version or the logs.

However, usually the connections between different versions do not work.
Amulecmd tell the version of amule to which it has connected, amulecmd and the webserver allow you to see the log.

Just a matter of adding the core version to the connect log.

You see the content of amuled's logfile in the remotegui anyway with the SVN versions.
