[SOLVED] libbfd and aMule
« on: July 30, 2009, 01:59:25 PM »

Hi,

Since I've updated my aMule from 2.2.2 to 2.2.5 I cannot launch it and I've the following message :

amule: error while loading shared libraries: libbfd-2.18.0.20080103.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory.

Do you have a idea to solve this problem ?

Thanks

Maybe you use a package that was built on an older or newer version of your distro. Where did you get the package. Could you post your /etc/apt/sources.list, or whatever it is called in your distro?

my sources.list :

Code: [Select]
deb http://fr.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ intrepid main restricted
deb-src http://fr.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ intrepid main restricted
deb http://fr.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ intrepid-updates main restricted
deb-src http://fr.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ intrepid-updates main restricted

deb http://fr.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ intrepid universe
deb-src http://fr.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ intrepid universe
deb http://fr.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ intrepid-updates universe
deb-src http://fr.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ intrepid-updates universe

deb http://fr.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ intrepid multiverse
deb-src http://fr.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ intrepid multiverse
deb http://fr.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ intrepid-updates multiverse
deb-src http://fr.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ intrepid-updates multivers

deb http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu intrepid-security main restricted
deb-src http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu intrepid-security main restricted
deb http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu intrepid-security universe
deb-src http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu intrepid-security universe
deb http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu intrepid-security multiverse
deb-src http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu intrepid-security multiverse
deb http://dl.google.com/linux/deb/ stable non-free

The update was made by my update manager. Since there was a problem, I've removed it and I've installed the .deb for ubuntu 8.10 that I've found on the official website but the problem is still here.

I didn't see such a cruel sources.list very often. If Ubuntu doesn't set any special folder (for example debian adds debian to the given URL), the repo is mixed for Debian and Ubuntu, at least it's the exactly same URL and google lists it as Debian 4.0, which is old-stable.

Please post the output of "for pkg in `apt-cache search amule --names-only | sed -e 's/ .*$//'`; do apt-cache policy $pkg; done" and "apt-cache policy binutils-dev"

There you see the problem, you installed all amule-stuff from hardy and libbfd from intrepid. I guess no hardy is older than int, so you should update your system.
