Mh, you should have correct permissions. Maybe it's because the button is called "Modify"?

Kry has removed it. You can only edit posts for 60 minutes unless you have moderator rights IIRC. The idea is that otherwise people can post in well read threads (like announcement of new version) and later edit their posts to include spam links.
If you want to update a post just pm me or another mod the url and the text you want.
