Dearest aMule Experts,

Hello. My name is Andrew.

Yesterday my Mac 10.6 internal Harddisk was almost full.
So i thought that maybe i can change the incoming and outgoing files transfer location to my External Harddisk.
(The location where i save the downloaded files.)

After i reset the incoming/outgoing File Transfer location, aMule requires me to restart the program.
Next i shut down the app, and trying to start up again, it Fails.

Can anybody please teach me how to set it back to the Default setting?
I think the crash is because of the change of the Files transfer location.

Now i am unable to start aMule. I wish it can be fixed and runs normally like last time.
Please help me and give me your Professional Advises.

Thank you Very Much!

aMule Rocks!!!

Best Regards,
Andrew :)

Welcome to the forum Andrew!

What version of aMule are you using?
How does it "fail"? Any messages? What is in the logfile ?
logfile and config file are located in /Users/YourName/Library/Application Support/aMule/
Deleting amule.conf there will reset it to default.

Dear Stu Redman,

Thank you very much for your warm reply!

Finally i've decided to un-install the whole aMule and re-install again.
However, i risk to loose all my half-downloaded files.

Thank you very much for your help again.

Finally i've decided to un-install the whole aMule and re-install again.
However, i risk to loose all my half-downloaded files.

I hope that you have not done so already,
because its very easy to keep those half-downloaded files files.
First, you need to locate where they are stored.
Im guessing you only changed the destination of the
"Destination folder for downloads" (for finished downloads), right?
So that your half-downloaded files will still be in the default "Folder for temporary download files",
which in my case is: /home/rrm/.aMule/Temp
and in your case something like: /home/afrodisiac/.aMule/Temp
So, just go to Places > Home > "afrodisiac" (or whatever name you chose)
and you will see a number of folders, but not the aMule folder (yet),
because its hidden.
To see it, go to (in that directory) "view" and check "show hidden files".
Now you see a .aMule folder.
In that folder there are a number of files and 2 more folders:
"Incoming" and "Temp".
"Temp" contains the half-downloaded files

Copy the files in that "Temp" folder (part, part.met and part.met.bak files),
and paste them into a new folder (create a new folder in your documents folder, for example).

After the installation of a new aMule, you can copy and paste these files back into the newly created "Temp" folder.
Then start aMule, and it will resume downloading where it ended.

Awwww, everybody!

I've deleted them all completely and re-install the new aMule!

My Mac only left 300MB+, thats why i need to delete them and move the saving location to my External Harddisk.

Awww, i shouldn't be acting so fast. I should consult to you guys first!

But its okay, i can download them again.

Thanks Experts, you guys are so friendly and helpful, you guys ROCKS!

Andrew :)
