amule disconnects when session disconnected

Hi all,
I have recently installed a Linux server running Ubuntu. This is a backend server which I connect to from a Windows system via No Machine NX.

When running a-mule (2.2.6) if I disconnect from the NX session (note: disconnected, not terminated, so the session is still running) it drops both the Kad and ED2K connections at the moment the NX session disconnects. A-Mule is still running, when I reconnect to the session, it then reconnects automatically.

Naturally I want a-mule to stay connected and upload/download while I am not connected to the NX session.

Any ideas how to fix this, or what I am doing wrong?

Sounds very strange. Especially considering the fact that you can connect to it, but aMule loses connections.
Does this happen with other applications as well? Maybe you can copy something through FTP and disconnect the NX session, then connect and see if it finished...
