installing amule on Centos 6
« on: December 29, 2011, 09:33:43 AM »

I am trying to install the i386 rpm from here

rpm -i amule-2.3.1-1.el6.gapf.i686.rpm

told me that it wants some other stuff installed

I did
yum install cryptopp
yum install gd
yum install geoip
yum install gettext
yum install libcryptopp.so.1
yum install libupnp
yum install wxGTK

but it says
warning: amule-2.3.1-1.el6.gapf.i686.rpm: Header V4 RSA/SHA1 Signature, key ID e8c347d7: NOKEY
error: Failed dependencies:
        libcryptopp.so.1 is needed by amule-2.3.1-1.el6.gapf.i686

cryptopp package has installed /usr/lib/libcryptopp.so.6.0.0

How do I solve the missing libcryptopp.so.1 file ?
what should I do now?

It seems indeed a cryptopp package mismatch.

What cryptopp version is installed ? (rpm -qi cryptopp)
Can you upgrade it?  (yum update cryptopp)
Does 'yum localinstall --nogpgcheck ./amule-2.3.1-1.el6.gapf.i686.rpm'  help?

Thanks for the advise

I reinstalled Centos 6
I added the repoforge repository using instructions here

I installed the geoip cryptopp and wxgtk packages from repoforge using yum

The libupnp 1.6.6 package from repoforge didn't work (missing libupnp.so.6). I have no idea why.

I installed the upnp package from here instead

http://elders.princeton.edu/data/puias/6/i386/os/Addons/libupnp-1.6.13-1.puias6.i686.rpm

Perhaps I should have used the package on the amule download page but no matter, amule installs and runs

Added the only good server
ed2k://|server|212.63.206.35|4242|/

and it works!

Thanks for the help

Hi!

The best way to use these packages is installing the repoforge repository and then the repo provided by me: http://gapf.ninth.su

Regards.
