Here it is....Happens every now and then. Today it happened after 4-5 hours since when I run "amule" in the gnome-terminal.

You have to use wxWidgets 2.8.12.

Ask your distro to update, or build aMule yourself (which allows you to upgrade to aMule 2.3.1 while you're at it).
Mint should be similar to Ubuntu, so see http://wiki.amule.org/index.php/HowTo_Compile_In_Ubuntu

I had same problem, as suggested followed advice of upgrading wxWidgets and problem went, there's some useful links in my post if you don't want to build yourself.

No no no!!!
Wait a second...

I already have
- registered to this forum
- copied and pasted the terminal backtrace in code
- explained everything that happens to me, losing precious time

and now, in order to make aMule work and not crash I have to
- follow a link to another thread
- read the other thread to find another link
- *try* to see what the hell is wxWidgets and *try* to update it
- *try* to compile and build it by myself

WHAT?

Aww, fuck it. I'm going to continue using my crashing version.

It's just as easy!
Follow the instructions here: http://wiki.wxpython.org/InstallingOnUbuntuOrDebian
