Request for notification of encrypted files
« on: June 04, 2012, 02:08:52 AM »

Would it be possible to add a column in the transfers page to show weather a file is encrypted.

I download lots of videos, and it's annoying to discover that once downloaded the video is 'protected'.

It would also be cool to add this as a search option

No. In aMule1s point of view a file is just a stream of bytes. It doesn't know anything about the content type, encoding, etc. If the content is junk, you'll get exactly that junk.

The only thing that might help you is the file comments and ratings, if there are any, of course.

Not exactly. There are some file inspection options that show properties like bit rate in the search results (but not in the transfer window). But these are generated on the sharer's side.
In theory it would be possible to detect archive encryption options for partially downloaded archives (zip and rar should do), but I have not investigated if that's possible from the header. Should though.

These "file inspection options" are eMule only.
