El amule se cierra solo
« on: April 06, 2015, 02:25:08 PM »

Tengo Ubuntu 14.10 con linux 3.16.0-33-generic x86_64 y amule 2.3.1 y a veces el amule se cierra solo, otras no responde. Como puedo solucionarlo?

I would suggest you compile a recent development release for yourself. Ubuntu applies a number of patches to the 2.3.1 version, and I can't tell whether they broke something or we. Does the logfile (~/.aMule/logfile) contain anything suspicious?

What happens and when? Are you doing something, and then aMule freezes, or you just leave it alone? Does it stop responding after a while, or right after startup? Please provide a little more error description... (Sorry, I don't speak Spanish, and I don't really trust much in machine translation.)

Al rato de iniciar sin que yo haga nada a veces se queda colgado y otras veces simplemente se cierra.

After a while without do something, sometimes The program stop responding and sometimes the program close directly.

Please install the amule-dbg package (if you haven't done so yet), and start aMule from a terminal, not from launcher. (Just open up a terminal, like xterm, and type "amule" - without the quotes, of course - to start it). Now whenever it hangs or crashes, it should provide some details on when and why (in the terminal window).

It doesn't matter, I understand the interesting part of it ("Violación de segmento (`core' generado)").

If you could install gdb and amule-dbg, that could help us understand what's going on. If you have both installed, then please have a look at http://wiki.amule.org/wiki/Backtraces-es#El_archivo_core and please try to generate a backtrace. If you need any more instructions, just tell me.

Seems to be identical to http://forum.amule.org/index.php?topic=20803.0

Unfortunately, I have no idea what causes the crash.

I'm not absolutely sure in that, but most likely it will disappear.

There are detailed instructions in the Wiki (English only, sorry). The instructions are a little bit outdated (I'd have to find some time to update them), they're for Ubuntu 9.04, but should still work on 14.10. I'm not sure all the prerequisite package names are correct for 14.10, but I hope you can figure out the right names for your system. Just tell me if you have any problems.
