Hi,

I've used amule for years without a hitch. The other week I had to erase my system and instal the backup. amule didn't work. I deleted the program and downloaded it again, it still doesn't work.

I have the newest version of amule in my Applications folder but when I click it, either there or in the dock, the icon bounces once and that's it. Nothing opens. I've tried reinstalling Yosemite, Disk Utility, and restarting the computer but it doesn't work where it did before. I've also triple checked the security settings to allow for third party software and I have no firewall. My torrent software runs just fine, it's amule that I'm having trouble with.

Any suggestions?

Hi, maybe try opening from a terminal window and note any error messages which are shown.

From a terminal:

'amule'

Thank you for the answer. The solution was to clear the library files and restart the program.

If this ever happens to someone else, hold down the Option Key while you drop down the Go Menu from Finder. Select the now visible Library option and type in amule. Either delete all the files or move them to the desktop if you have downloads. Restart the program and it works again. If you put the files on your desk you can drag and drop them back into the amule file and select Replace when prompted about duplicates.

This drove me nuts. I use App Trap, so I assumed the plist and all other files were moved to the trash, but I was wrong. Anyway, thank YOU for the suggestion and good luck to anyone else with the same problem.
