;) it would be a good idea to let the user change the font amule works on

i want to search for files in heb but all i see is [].... and hte font is also verry small

AFAIK, the font aMule uses is the default GTK font. So change the default GTK font, and... there you are ;-P
Ok, so skinning is something which could someday be into aMule, meanwhile, that's the walkaround.
