Last news about rc4. Next will be the rc4 itself.
« on: June 22, 2004, 04:25:07 AM »

Well, hello happy Mac users! I have been connected to servers,  getting sources, downloading files, sending messages via friends, etc, etc on a Mac version of aMule.

It not still on CVS. wait 1-2 days. Screenshots to come soon.

aMule 2.0.0-rc4 will have functionality on Mac (downloading files ;)) but still has some bugs (even when the major ones are fixed now).

aMule team wants to say a big thanks to the Mac supporters of the project: PowerMike, Hellimod, one_2_one, for providing their Macs for ssh & VNC. Without them, and without our users, we will be nothing.

But with them, and with our users, we're the first eMule-like client for Mac.

Rabbits do eat apples.

you guys are amazing. aMule is way ahead of the other linux p2p's (at least, those for the emule/edonkey network. an cuz that network is the best..... ;-))

thanx for all the work!!!  :baby:

hmmmm, I'm gonna like RC4, I'm sure... and I'm still impressed by rc2. while it is quite unstable, the restart script fixes that, and damn - its soooo fast... while 1.2.6 was downloadit mostly at some 30/40 kb sec, this new mule does 120kb and even more!

restart script
« Reply #7 on: June 23, 2004, 05:54:02 PM »

You're doing realy good! There's quite a lot of good "tobaco" for me to download out of the net.

I also want to update to the unstable version, even if it breaks sometimes.

For that I need the restart-script that "superstoned" was writing about above.

I couldn't find or do it by myself... can you show me the way?

Thanks for help and your delicious pipe!

CVS is soooo good! Great download speeds, stable, and fine GTK2 support!
The only thing I'm having problem with is running aMule with my default locale settings. I have to use
Code: [Select]
LC_ALL="en_US" amule &, otherwise it crashs right on the startup.

So when that'll be fixed and we'll have some better icons at the toolbar - aMule will be close to be perfect!
