u have 100% the wrong wxgtk rpm installed ..

check for your linux distri wx rpms, uninstall them and install the one u can find in our installation howto (+ our amule rpm).

and also search here on forum for ->  _ZTV10wxTextCtrl  .. a lot of threads ;)

Hi,

I am having a similar problem, although without any mention of "ZTV10wxTextCtrl".  I am upgrading from 1.2.6. I have been though the "HowTo" page and made sure I had all of the files needed for an RPM installation (the only ones that actually needed upgrading were the libcrypt files).  I then downloaded aMule version 2.0.0.rc5 for RH9.

It was freezing at the same stage as the original poster in this thread, so I ran it through gdb to see where it was falling over....

Thanks for any help you can give me.

hamish,

Your wx configuration seems to be ok.
Try this:

$ mv ~/.eMule ~/.eMule.bak
$ mv ~/.aMule ~/.aMule.bak
$ amule

and see if it still locks.

Cheers!

Hi Phoenix,

Thanks for your response.  I ended up removing rc5 and installing 1.2.8 instead. It seems to be working fine now, although I have a LowID problem I haven't been able to fix, but that's another story!

Thanks again for your help.

Best wishes,

Hamish

RC6 will fix all this problems. I made some special coding today to avoid those startup crashes.
