crypto make install help

Right I know this probably isnt your problem (being that libcrypto is not your respnosibility to manage) but could you please lend me a hand here.
Am on slackware 9.1 following the compile guide to install from source,
everything is hunky dorey and compiles and installs well, jsut when i get to the make install part of installing crypto-5.2.1 i get the following statement

"make: ***No rule to make target 'install'.    Stop."

Now i know all I have to do is simple install the libraries to the correct area and symbolicly link them up and stuff, just not sure of the specifics, can someone please lend a hand (just have been through another mule linux client already with no luck).

there is no "make install" on crypto++ 5.2, you have to copy libcryptopp.a manually (as root) into /usr/lib
