Getting aMule to complete a corrupt part
« on: October 06, 2004, 02:06:14 PM »

Dear all,

I am writing to ask if anyone has any information about getting aMule to complete a corrupted part.

The file in question is very large, so it would be undesireable to start again :)

aMule at the moment keeps downloading the penultimate part, reports that it is corrupted in the log, and starts downloading a small bit of the part again. So far, this seems to be going on in an endless loop.

Is there any way that I can "clear" that part, and get aMule to download it again , hopefully without corruption?

Many thanks.

You will have to use rc6 - it will automatically guesss which client is sending you wrong data and then re-dl the corrupted parts from legit clients.

Thanks for the information Kry! I take it that it's possible to transfer the already completed files to rc6 - would that just be a case of copying/moving the part and met files to the relevant folders?

Thanks again!

Edit: I found that just by specifying the already present aMule folders, rc6 picked the files up straight away - nice! :)
