Well, don't be carried away - if X or kernel crashes - it's X or kernel problem, whatever bugs amule have.

But anyway - it looks like crash @ very beginning, problem is probably in bad gtk/wx installation.

Hello,

When trying to install this package it seems to exist a conflict about /usr/bin/wx-config between wxGTK and wxBase :

# rpm -hiv wxGTK-2.4.2-1.i386.rpm wxBase-2.4.2-1.i386.rpm
Préparation...              ########################################### [100%]
        le fichier /usr/bin/wx-config entre en conflit avec les tentatives d'installation de wxGTK-2.4.2-1 et wxBase-2.4.2-1

How can i go further ?

Thanks a lot, with the --force argument i can now install wxGTK and wxBase but there is still a dependancy problem with the aMule rpm  ;( (sorry it's a french langage installation of FC3  :) )  :
# rpm -hUv aMule-2.0.0rc7-1.i386.rpm
erreur: Dépendances requises:
        libwx_base-2.4.so est nécessaire pour aMule-2.0.0rc7-1.i386
        libwx_base-2.4.so(WXBASE_2.4) est nécessaire pour aMule-2.0.0rc7-1.i386
        libwx_gtk-2.4.so est nécessaire pour aMule-2.0.0rc7-1.i386
        libwx_gtk-2.4.so(WXGTK_2.4) est nécessaire pour aMule-2.0.0rc7-1.i386

Ihave to precise that  i've done the symbolic link given in the README
# ln -sf /usr/bin/wxgtk-2.4-config /usr/bin/wx-config
# ln -sf /usr/bin/wxbase-2.4-config /usr/bin/wxbase-config
# ll /usr/bin/wxbase-config /usr/bin/wxbase-config
lrwxrwxrwx  1 root root 26 déc  4 22:59 /usr/bin/wxbase-config -> /usr/bin/wxbase-2.4-config
lrwxrwxrwx  1 root root 26 déc  4 22:59 /usr/bin/wxbase-config -> /usr/bin/wxbase-2.4-config

any help will be well done  :baby:

Gollum, yes, I can perfectly reproduce your problem and I am very sorry for this badly packed package - I will try to solve that as fast as possible and make a new package!

I don't know why the rpm makes trouble, to be honest....well, I'll find out.

if you want to have it now, email me at citroklar at amule dot org and tell me that you want the package NOW :-) then I'll send it to you (could be that deltaHF is a lot busy these days)

Hi Citroklar,

I installed this new packages on  two FC3 workstations (with all packages up to date with up2date utility) that i can access (one at home and the other at my office) and it seems to work. That' great

Just one little thing, in the README file you wrote :

2. Install the new rpms (as root):
change to the directory where you unpacked this package and run:

rpm -Uhv *

But you have to remove the README file before the rpm -Uvh because it confuses rpm ... ;(

Thanks a lot once more ...
